What will happen if it is passed and enacted
When it is passed and enacted, there will be an amendment in the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, through which China can be claimed for the loss in dealing with the epidemic. That is, the Bill would give the US the right to sue China for compensation. However, the bill proposes that private lawsuits can be dismissed if the United States and China enter into an agreement to settle these claims.
What will this law do when this bill is passed
The justice law against the sponsors of terrorism makes it clear that trying to hide or spread a virus would be considered a terrorist activity. The legislation, passed in 2016, was endorsed by 97 members of the Senate. This law also empowers the US to recover damages from China for damages caused by coronavirus.
